Cloud is any service that works over the internet and is hosted on many servers (computers) at the same time. This way, if a server fails it can be replaced or fixed without affecting the services that the client (you) are using at all.
Cloud and VPS are two different things, although client access in the end is identical. "Cloud" is much better than "VPS". What changes is that a "Cloud Server" is a virtual computer that runs on a set of several real servers unified via the system, so if one server fails the others continue to support your computer's operation and you don't suffer any interference with it . A "Cloud Server" is more reliable than a dedicated server and can be YEARS connected directly. Already a "VPS", or Virtual Private Server, is a virtual computer that runs on just a single physical server (which supports several different VPS), if that physical server fails, all client VPS crashes and there is no stability gain between a VPS and a dedicated server.
